The BluEra team travelled to Edmonton yesterday to take part in the Alberta Venture best Workplace Awards ceremony at the Matrix hotel. BluEra was shortlisted for the Best Workplace for Volunteerism & Community Involvement award. Our shortlisted peers in this category were KPMG, Borden Ladner Gervais, and Syncrude. At the ceremony we received honourable mention and the top award went to Syncrude Canada. As a 12 person boutique firm we were thrilled to be in the running against such large established businesses.

Reporting to the President and CEO of Western Canada, the Director of IT is responsible for leading the development of the IT strategy in support of the overall Western Canada business strategy. He/she will be directly responsible for leading and managing a team of 10 IT professionals. Revenues for this geography are approximately $2B and there are 4500 employees both hourly and salary. This role will have a high degree of interaction with the Group VP IT Americas and Group IS/IT Hub Management (Americas Data Center and Americas Applications Service Center) as well as the Eastern Canada and US IT Heads.

Cavalier Energy is the result of a complete reorganization of Paramount Resources Ltd.’s oil sands and carbonate bitumen interests into a new wholly-owned subsidiary in December of 2011. The reorganization was undertaken to create a focused, self-funding oil sands entity in order to accelerate the development of the Hoole and Saleski leases.
The Manager Reservoir Engineering is a new position and will lead the reservoir engineering function for the organization. Reporting into the Senior Vice President of Geoscience, this is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial oil sands start up company with an excellent asset portfolio on the ground floor.
